Managing wedding guests: replies, reminders and check-in
Carton Blanc follows a wedding guest list from the date announcement to the thank-you message: guests reply on a dedicated page, non-responders are reminded separately, and on the day the list is checked off on a phone.
A wedding depends less on how many guests you invite than on how many replies arrive in time. The caterer wants a firm number, the venue wants a floor plan, and families send messages in every direction. The hard part is knowing, six weeks out, who has replied, who is undecided and who never received anything.
Carton Blanc keeps that list in one place. You import addresses from Excel or by pasting them, each guest registers on the wedding page, and you watch the replies come in. The software sells nothing and is not a ticketing tool: it invites, counts and checks guests in.
How Carton Blanc handles this event
- Invitations
- Your flyer and a registration link go to each guest by email on the date you choose. You read the text before it goes out, and nothing is sent without your approval.
- Registration
- Guests reply on the wedding page and get a confirmation straight away. They can ask a question there, for example to mention a dietary need or an access requirement.
- Waiting list
- If the venue has a capacity, registration closes when it is full. Later replies go on a waiting list and are told so: nobody is promised a seat that does not exist.
- Reminders
- The reminder at D-14 goes only to guests who have not yet replied. The day before, registered guests get the address and a link to add the date to their calendar.
- Check-in
- On the day, the list opens on a phone. One person at the welcome desk checks arrivals off, with no paper and no spreadsheet.
The recommended mailing calendar
When you create the event, Carton Blanc prepares a draft for each step, dated relative to the wedding. For a wedding, bring the announcement forward: guests who travel need months to book. You adjust the sending date of each email.
D-42 or earlier · Six weeks before, at the latest
The date announcement, with the flyer and the reply link. For distant guests, send it several months ahead.
D-28 · Four weeks before
The full invitation: schedule of the day, ceremony and reception venues, suggested accommodation.
D-14 · Two weeks before
The reminder, sent only to guests who have not replied. It is usually when the caterer asks for the final number.
D-1 · The day before
The reminder to registered guests: address, arrival time, add to calendar.
D+2 · Two days after
The thank-you message, with one text for guests who came and another for those who could not.
Organiser's tips
- Set a reply deadline before you announce. Write it in the invitation: "please reply by the 15th". A precise deadline gets more replies than "as soon as possible", and it justifies the reminder.
- Remind by short message, never through the family. An automatic reminder offends nobody, whereas a call from the best man to an uncle might. The software does the chasing and you save your energy for the party.
- Ask for constraints at registration. Dietary needs, reduced mobility, young children: the caterer and the venue need them at least two weeks ahead. One question on the registration page beats many messages.
- Keep a waiting list for the unexpected. Late withdrawals always happen at a wedding. A waiting list lets you call someone from the second wave instead of paying for empty seats.
Frequently asked questions
- Can Carton Blanc manage wedding RSVPs?
- Yes. Guests register on the wedding page, you follow the replies and you remind only those who have not replied. Carton Blanc sells nothing to guests.
- Do guests have to create an account?
- No. A guest fills in a form on the wedding page and receives a confirmation by email. Only the organiser has an account.
- What happens when the venue is full?
- The person goes on a waiting list and is told so. They are not confirmed until a place becomes free.
- How much does Carton Blanc cost for one wedding?
- A single event is paid once, with no subscription: the price is at the bottom of this page. It covers the emails and the event page until thirty days after its date.
The flyer for this event
A wedding flyer is created from your account, in French or English, in one of the catalogue styles: a photo card, a classic style or a poster. It is free as soon as the account is open.

What Carton Blanc does not do
Carton Blanc is not a ticketing tool: it takes no ticket payments and sells nothing to guests. No email is sent without the organiser's approval. There is no advertising, no resale of data and no free plan.
Create an account from €49
Carton Blanc costs €99 incl. VAT a month (€82.50 excl. VAT) with no commitment, or €990 incl. VAT a year (€825 excl. VAT). A single event costs €49 incl. VAT (€40.83 excl. VAT), paid once: its emails and page stay open until 30 days after its date.
